July 3 – July 28 2017

Following the successful launch of our summer coding camp in 2016 we are continuing to bring the coding experience for kids during the summer break. This year we have a 4-week camp from July 3 till July 28.

The camp is in English, the daily schedule is from 10:00 till 14:00 with a snack break and pizza lunch each Friday. The registration is open for kids from 9 years old.
  • Week 1 and Week 2: ages 9 – 13
  • Week 3 and Week 4: ages 14 – 17
Our coding curriculum is tailored for the appropriate age and has been tested and proved successfully with the previous groups. The curriculum is focused around web development since we believe that web applications are one of the most demanded areas right now and in the middle to long-term perspective.

Some of the key points are:

  • Web development with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery
  • Programming for web and mobile with JavaScript
  • Learning computer science, game development and web development with game-based curriculum

4 weeks of coding

The program for this course is built as a result of our after-school coding classes and coding camp 2016 which we hosted last summer for kids. This year we have weeks 1 and 2 for the ages 9-13 and weeks 3 and 4 for kids between 14 and 17 years old.

July 3 – July 7: Computer science and games development

By using game-based approach we are going to introduce young students to the basics of computer science and game development through Google CS First curriculum and game-based learning tools. It’s going to be fun and educational mixed together.

July 10 – July 14: Web development for kids

Second week will logically continue the first one by taking students to the web development world letting them start creating a website through approachable curriculum specifically designed for younger students.

July 17 – July 21: Web development

During this week we will build websites using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript. We will learn the modern technologies and tools and create some amazing real world websites and host them on GitHub or Heroku.

July 24 – July 28: Programming with JavaScript

Final week is about some major fun with functional programming with JavaScript. We are going to get familiar with hardcore coding and learn how to write and use functions, loops, conditionals, objects and arrays. This week is the most advanced and will bring the students to the next level regardless of their previous experience.

The daily schedule:

  • 10:00-12:00: coding class
  • 12:00-12:15: snack break (provided by the school)
  • 12:15-14:00: coding class
